The Jagged Mountains – a snippet

Jack’s Tale _ Book 6 of The Mallory Saga

A brief snippet from the soon to be released (digital version) The Jagged Mountains… 😊

Monique woke up to the sound of Hosagowwa stoking the fire.
Gabe stirred next to her as she started to get out from under the elk
blanket. “Feels a bit chilly,” he said pulling the blanket back over
him. He watched her as she began making coffee. “Ahh, a cup of that
will do nicely, especially if my love would bring one to me.”
Monique placed the pot over the fire, winked at Hosagowwa,
and said, “Some people must be getting old if they can’t get out of
bed.”
“Gabe has much gray in his beard,” said Hosagowwa, “Perhaps
we should be kind to him. It is the Mohawk way to care for our
elders.”
“That’s enough out of you two,” said Gabe. He threw off the
blanket and stood up forgetting he was naked.
“A lot of gray down there too,” said Monique with a huge smile.
Gabe quickly covered himself and pulled on his trousers. “Still
works though,” he muttered as he walked to the fire. “I’ll have some
coffee now that the entertainment is over.”
